RONIX 2027 Intermediate 28” Fluid Mast / Balance Series Wake Foil Setup
CHF 1,849.90 CHF 1,659.90
The Ronix Intermediate 28” Fluid / Balance Series is a performance-oriented wake foil setup for riders ready to progress beyond their first flights. Combining the 28” Fluid Mast with a choice of 1300 cm² or 1600 cm² Balance Front Wing, 240 cm² Balance Rear Stabilizer, 39 cm Link 3D Fuselage and removable Vertical Stabilizer, it delivers powerful pumping, smooth predictable turns, impressive down-the-line speed and the stability needed to progress toward second-wave riding.
Ronix Wakefoils
The Ronix Intermediate 28” Fluid / Balance Series is the next step for riders who already understand the fundamentals of wake foiling and are ready for more height, speed, pumping efficiency and overall performance.
Ronix describes this setup as “Fluidity, Balance and progression.” It combines the taller 28” Fluid Mast with the versatile Balance Wing platform to create a considerably larger performance range than a beginner-oriented foil.
The result is a setup capable of powerful pumps, strong response, high down-the-line speed and performance Ronix says can rival carbon setups costing twice as much.
28” Fluid Mast
At the heart of the setup is Ronix’s 28” Fluid Mast.
Rather than focusing purely on maximum speed, Ronix developed the Fluid Mast around smoothness and consistency through turns. Its medium-tempo personality is designed to create flowing, linked arcs instead of a foil that feels like it turns in separate stages.
The 28” height provides additional room underneath the board, making it especially suited to larger wakes with deeper undercurrents.
Ronix designed this mast to take riders from their initial progression in flight all the way to exploring the second wave nearly 80 feet behind the boat.
Balance Front Wing – 1300 cm² or 1600 cm²
The setup is available with a choice of two Balance Front Wings:
- 1300 cm² – more nimble, responsive and easier to roll onto edge
- 1600 cm² – more powerful with additional pumping efficiency and lift
Both use Ronix’s lower-modulus autoclave carbon construction and are designed around consistency, stability and predictable flight.
Balance 1300 – Nimble & Responsive
The 1300 cm² Balance Wing is the more agile option.
Its elliptical outline and thin trailing edge allow the wing to roll onto edge easily and create tighter, quicker turns.
Choose the 1300 if you prioritize:
- more nimble handling
- quicker turns
- responsive edge changes
- a sportier foil feel
Balance 1600 – Pumping & Lift
The larger 1600 cm² Balance Wing places more emphasis on power and pumping efficiency.
Its increased surface area helps riders generate and maintain lift, making it particularly attractive for riders looking to pump farther and maximize time away from the primary boat wake.
Choose the 1600 if you prioritize:
- more lift
- greater pumping efficiency
- additional stability
- easier sustained flight
Both wings are designed to quickly find the sweet spot and then maintain a consistent flight path.
Twist Winglet Design
One of the defining characteristics of the Balance series is Ronix’s unique Twist Winglet design.
A common challenge with foils is generating plenty of lift but struggling to control exactly where the foil wants to sit in the water column.
The Balance Wing is designed differently: once the rider establishes the desired flight height, the wing helps maintain that position with consistent and stable edge hold.
Ronix compares it to choosing the floor on an elevator – the wing gets you there and, more importantly, helps keep you there.
White Carbon Wing Design
The Balance Front Wing is manufactured from high-grade carbon fibers using Ronix’s proprietary autoclave process.
Ronix then paints the carbon wing white.
This is not purely cosmetic. The white finish gives the rider a visual reference for the foil’s position relative to the water depth, making it easier to understand and control flight height.
Balance 240 Rear Stabilizer
The setup uses Ronix’s 240 cm² Balance Rear Stabilizer.
It is deliberately designed with a low-temperament personality that emphasizes lift, grip and stability.
A wider base, additional rake, slightly thicker profile and turned-up winglets help stabilize the foil when the rider gets off-axis.
This is particularly valuable when progressing with pumping and turns, but the stabilizer still has enough speed to support second-wave transfers.
39 cm Link 3D Fuselage
Connecting the foil system is Ronix’s 39 cm Link 3D Fuselage.
Each fuselage begins as a high-grade alloy billet before being precision machined on a 3-axis CNC machine.
The streamlined conical construction is designed around two key characteristics:
- high rigidity
- efficient movement through the water
Precise connections between mast, front wing and rear stabilizer help create the smooth and predictable foil behavior that defines the complete setup.
Removable 26 cm² Vertical Stabilizer
The setup also includes Ronix’s innovative 26 cm² Vertical Stabilizer.
It slides onto the Ronix fuselage and adds another level of stability and control.
The Vertical Stabilizer is designed to:
- slow down abrupt takeoffs
- improve pitch control
- reduce unwanted yaw
- lock the foil into turns
- create smoother deep-water starts
- make rolling turns easier to navigate
This is particularly useful when transitioning to a taller mast or larger front wing.
Once you have developed the necessary control, the Vertical Stabilizer can simply be removed to unlock the full personality and responsiveness of the foil.
Designed for Intermediate Riders
Ronix classifies this setup as Ability: Intermediate
It is designed for riders who already have a basic understanding of foiling, know how to pump and are ready to use the additional height of a 28” mast.
It is particularly well suited for riders progressing toward:
- more powerful pumping
- faster riding
- tighter turns
- larger wakes
- wake transfers
- second-wave riding
- longer foil lines
- more advanced foil control
Best Behind Mid to Larger Waves
Ronix specifically recommends the Fluid / Balance setup behind mid to larger size waves.
The taller 28” mast allows the front wing to sit deeper in the water, which becomes increasingly important as wake size and underwater turbulence increase.
This makes the setup particularly interesting for riders behind modern wake boats producing larger surf waves.
High-End Performance at a Mid-Level Price
Ronix refers to this setup as its self-proclaimed “White Lightning.”
The idea is to deliver many of the performance characteristics associated with considerably more expensive carbon foil systems while retaining the value and predictable riding characteristics of the Fluid / Balance platform.
For an intermediate rider looking for one setup capable of progressing from controlled wake foiling into pumping, transfers and second-wave exploration, the Fluid / Balance offers an exceptionally broad performance range.
