RONIX 2027 Beginner Shift Mast / Balance Series Wake Foil Setup

The Ronix Beginner Shift Mast / Balance Series is the gateway into wake foiling – a setup developed specifically to remove the biggest difficulties riders normally face when learning to fly.

Rather than putting a beginner directly onto a traditional full-height mast, Ronix developed its patented telescoping Shift Mast. The same mast can be configured at four different heights – 17”, 20”, 23” and 26” – allowing the foil to progress together with the rider.

Shift Mast – Four Mast Heights in One

The Shift Mast is the defining technology of this setup.

It offers four adjustable heights:

17” / 20” / 23” / 26”

Ronix recommends starting at the lowest 17” setting to master deep-water starts before progressively moving to the taller positions. The latest version adds the fourth adjustment and now extends all the way to 26”.

The system is designed to help riders progress through three fundamental stages of foiling:

• progressing toward flying and eventually riding without the handle

Balance 1300 Front Wing

The setup uses Ronix’s 1300 cm² Balance Front Wing, designed around consistency, stability and predictable lift.

Its elliptical outline and additional width allow the foil to roll naturally onto edge while helping the rider find and maintain the ideal flight position.

Rather than producing sudden uncontrolled lift, the Balance is designed to establish a consistent flight path – exactly what a new foil rider needs while learning pitch and height control.

White Depth-Gauge Design

A particularly clever detail is the white finish over the carbon front wing.

This makes the wing easier to see relative to the waterline, effectively giving the rider a visual reference for how deep the foil is running.

For beginners learning to control foil height and avoid breaching the surface, this can provide valuable visual feedback.

Balance 240 Rear Stabilizer

At the rear is Ronix’s 240 cm² Balance Stabilizer.

Its wider base, additional rake, thicker profile and turned-up winglets place the emphasis on lift, grip and predictable control.

The design helps stabilize the foil when the rider gets off-axis and makes it easier to maintain consistent lift while learning to pump and turn.

Although designed as an excellent beginner stabilizer, Ronix notes that experienced riders can also use it when they want additional rear lift and stability with more advanced front wings.

Vertical Stabilizer – Additional Learning Assistance

The setup also includes Ronix’s removable 26 cm² Vertical Stabilizer.

This innovative component slides onto the fuselage and provides another level of stability while learning.

It is designed to:

• slow down the takeoff
• improve pitch control
• lock the foil more securely into turns
• reduce unwanted yaw
• create a smoother deep-water start
• make turns easier to navigate

Once the rider has developed a solid foundation, the Vertical Stabilizer can simply be removed to unlock the foil’s full riding characteristics.

Connecting the mast, front wing and rear stabilizer is Ronix’s 39 cm Link 3D Fuselage.

Each fuselage begins as a high-grade alloy billet and is precision milled on a 3-axis CNC machine.

Ronix designed the streamlined conical construction around rigidity, precise component fit and water efficiency, creating a strong connection between all major foil components.

Progressive Learning System

What makes the Shift / Balance setup different from a conventional foil is that multiple components are specifically designed to make the learning process easier.

Start with:

As your confidence improves, move progressively through the 20”, 23” and finally 26” mast settings.
